CLIENT: Hulu - Not Dead Yet
OVERVIEW: Hulu created a sitcom television show called Not Dead Yet, about a newly single woman trying to restart her life. She gets a job as an obituary writer and gets advice from an unlikely source. I was hired to create key props featured throughout the show.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: My role involved closely reading the script each week, identifying essential props that played a pivotal role in the storyline, and creating them from scratch. This included not only the physical design and crafting of the props but also the development of fictional company names and branding to accompany them, ensuring each prop felt authentic to the world of the show. A key challenge on this project was working under an extremely fast timeline.
STYLE & APPROACH: Each prop design was tailored to fit the tone of the show—whether sleek and futuristic, vintage and rustic, or whimsical and fun. The design process combined creativity with practicality, ensuring that the props not only looked great on screen but also served their purpose in the narrative. The final designs were aligned with the vision of the show, contributing to its overall visual identity and enhancing the storytelling experience.
